John, I have seen the Capitol Gold concert, it's excellent, but...............................
it ain't The Hollies...!!!

The Hollies are still The Hollies as long as Tony and Bobby are in the band. And John is right you are missing out on what is still a great band and I hope they stay around to entertain us for many more years to come.

Okay,
75 & 76 in Melbourne, with Terry Bernie, Allan, Tony and Bobby
83, Melbourne, Allan, Tony Bobby, Paul Bliss not really sure who the other members were, don't know if Alan Coates was with the band then. Maybe somebody here can fill in the blanks.
87, Allan, Tony, Bobby, Dennis, Alan, I have a couple of photos I took and the Bass player looks like Ray Stiles but in the tour book he was listed as Steve.
2001, Carl, Tony, Bobby. Ian, Ray & Alan

They were all great concerts, don't know about a favourite one.

with Carl in 2004. It was an outdoor concert and it was great. "It's In Everyone Of Us" was so beautiful I almost had to cry.

Although the acapella version of "Let Love Pass" is brilliant, I absolutely love the version of "It's In Each and Everyone of Us" with Carl. In some ways both closings result in a tear or two.

I have seen the Hollies 2 times. Once in 1983 and then again in 1987 both here in Christchurch New Zealand. i can't remember who the complete line ups were, but I'm sure Paul Bliss might have been on keyboards for the 83 concert , as I'm sure I remember Allan introducing him. I also remember Tony saying at the 87 concert that they were going to meet up with Graham Nash after touring NZ and do some concerts in the US. needless to say I was very excited at seeing both of these concerts. I do remember they opened up with "Stop in the name of love" at the 83 show, I was blown away with how powerfull there live performance of this was. I also recall them doing "Soldiers song at the same concert, it still sticks in my mind, as I had never heard it before, while I had known of the recording I dont know if it ever got released here in NZ.
Cheers Ray

I saw the Holiies in 1976 at Sydney Hordern Pavilion and again at Revesby Workers club, Sydney in 1982. (twice in the same night). In '76 the line up was Alan Clarke, Tony Hicks Bobby Elliott, Terry Sylvester and Bernie Calvert with Pete Wingfield. Other than Clarke, Hicks and Elliott , I can't remember who else played.

Once.

1983 Soldier Field Chicago. Cool
Clarke ,Hicks , Nash.

I was 19 , and I knew the Hollies did Bus Stop
and Long Cool Woman. And that's it.

Nothing could have prepared me for hearing
ALL THOSE HITS ALL AT ONCE. Shocked
And by a band so professionally polished. Wink

To say I was permanently blown away or
my life was changed forever would be an
understatement on the grandest of scales.

If you cut me, I'd bleed in 3 part harmony. Laughing

Before the year was over , I had collected
ALL the major album releases of the Hollies
in both US and where applicable British(and German)
form. And I consider attending that show among the
2 or 3 best decisions I ever made in my life.

..or as the Hollies themselves put it best that night.

"Just one look , that's all it took ,yeah" Cool
