Hi all,
I remember hearing the name Russel Harty in the Minder Christmas song with George Cole and Dennis Waterman. I see from the list of clips from the Dutch Collection Ro Robert has listed The Air that I Breathe with the name Russel Harty after, thus I would guess this person had a TV show in the 70's.
Who is Russel Harty?
Thanks,
Anthony

Russell was a Television interviewer like Mike Parkinson and Terry Wogan....He died some years back, but used to have a chat show called "Russell Harty Plus..."

I recall that when the Hollies were on his show, Russell Harty was chatting to the band and asked Bobby Elliott "why are you wearing a hat?" to which Bobby promptly took off his hat and Harty replied "Oh I see!".

Is there not a clip in The Who's 'The Kids Are Alright' of Keith Moon wrestling Harty to the floor? Laughing

Hi all,
Many thanks for your help,
I think I've seen a video of when Russell interviewed the Hollies, it was early 80's, they also sang "Take my love and run" Russell asked about Graham Nash and they said something like he left 13 years ago and Allan had returned from seeing him in the States.
Thanks again for all your help.
Anthony

He died in 1987, his show was on ITV and in his 1974 interview with The Who is included in 'The Kids Are Alright'. Keith Moon upstages him, I find it so funny every time I see it.
