I've read someone - maybe it was Clarke, maybe it was Ron Richards - was quoted as calling Tony Hicks "probably the best guitarist in the North" as a primary reason why the band pursued him to join the fledgling group.
I'll leave it to you English folk to decide what geographic area is included in the term "North." |

I also read somewhere (mind you this was 30 years ago) that Tony Hicks played guitar on some Stones recordings. Bearing in mind Clarke and Nash are meant to have sung on some of their songs, this probably does make some sense. Anyone know if it is true? |
