Hi all,
If you could pick one song you would love to see in the Hollies set list for the 2007 tour what would it be?
It's my topic so I can go first:
Mad Professor Blyth, well it's got a great beat and it's just a fun song.
Thanks,
Anthony

"Boulder To Birmingham" would be my choice.

I'd like "Boulder to Birmingham" as well, but seeing as Rob's got that, I'll have "Magic Woman Touch".

That was a tough one!

Writing on the wall is number one - no hesitation at all.

Dare I say I am a rock as no two?

And a good third might be Write on!

I would like to see Peter Howarth singing his own version of Allan Clarke's gem
"Don't Let Me Down" from the classic "Hollies" album of 1974.

Anthony, Mad Professor Blythe would be great, but as you've already claimed that one, I'll go with the other "time travel" song, Time Machine Jive. Or to stretch the point a little, I could even enjoy Allan's "just a bit outdated" ode to astral projection, Try It.

But what I'd most enjoy is a show that started off with Nitty Gritty/Something's Got a Hold of Me. That would get the set off to a high energy start!

Hi everyone, my choice would be Thanks For The Memories but I also agree with the suggestions Magic Woman Touch and Writing On The Wall.

And here I thought I was the only one out here that love listening to "Mad Professor Blythe"...oh well, me next would have to be an acapella version of "Yes I Will".

Great topic!

Thoughts of "Suspicious look in your eyes", "I won't move over", "Shine on me" and "Amazing grace" come to mind.

However, if it has to be one song, and having seen the 1973 (?) clip recently, a rip-roaring version of Long Dark Road would be an absolute winner, would bring the house down and would have me asking the 80 year old steward for the oxygen cylinder Smile

Cheers,
Chirpy

I would say "Samuel", "Laying To The Music" or "Hey Willy".

Some great ideas, Chirpy you are 100% right with Long Dark Road, Tony did a brilliant job with it.
Good one Holliesfan, I'm pleased the 2 of us enjoy Mad Professor Blythe, to me it's a Hollies classic.
Charlie and Fred would be a great choice also, maybe Tony could sing lead.
So far I've really enjoyed your thoughts.
Thanks,
Anthony

To clarify the date of the "Long Dark Road" clip, currently on YouTube, this performance was taped at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in November or early December 1972 (exact date of taping is unknown to me, but the concert I attended at that venue was on November 22, so I assume it was shortly thereafter), but broadcast on ABC-TV's Friday Night "In Concert" series on February 16, 1973.
