Does Terry have any children, and is Diane his wife? |

Not sure of all Terry's family members....but he dedicated his 1976 "solo" album: "I Believe", "....To Paul & Matthew..." and indeed the linear notes to his
2 CD set:"The Complete Works : 1969 - 1982" , The Terry Sylvester Anthology
on Magic (3930048) were written by Paul Sylvester, whom I assume is Terry's son.

Hi, Geoff, and thanks.
I'll email Terry's webpage when I get the chance. I would be amazed if a nice guy like him didn't have kids! |

Hi Vrinda
Yes, Diane is Terry's wife and I read somewhere that they have 4 children - 3 sons, Paul, Matthew, a son who's name escapes me at this time, , and a daughter Jemima |

Diane is Terry's wife, but his children are from previous marriages.
And also...yes, he is on vacation for another week or so. He normally returns e-mails on a timely basis, but is not on the computer everyday right now. |

Hi Susie!
Thanks for your response. I did send the email to Terry, but of course, I'm not expecting a relpy for now since he is on vacation. Thanks for filling in the blank.
Hofner65,
Thanks for your response, too. How many times has Terry been married? |

Not sure how many times (at least twice I think....maybe more !!)
But I did see one wedding photo from after he left The Hollies...and Bernie Calvert was pictured with Terry and his bride. |

too young to be married <groan >
Yes. Two marriages. One pre-Hollies, one during (as referenced by the photo you mentioned). But that's all I'll say. I wouldn't want someone else talking about MY bad marriage. |

May I suggest we all migrate to another subject other than a former Hollies member's marital status. Certainly there must be other titillating topics out there in Holliesland. |

I wasn't the one who started out asking about Terry's marital status - just if he had any kids. However, just to keep this conversation going in a different direction, I will ask, has anyone ever heard Terry's first band, the Escorts? |

I've never heard them but I do understand there is an album floating around called The Escorts at the Blue Angel...I believe I once heard the album was a "live" recording...not sure. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this subject. |

The Escorts' At the Blue Angel sounds like a live title, but it is simply the A and B sides of their six studio singles. Ironically, Terry had left for the Swinging Blue Jeans by the time they recorded the final single, yet the A-side "From Head to Toe" is my favorite song on the CD. The Escorts fell apart soon after, as at least one of the other Escorts followed Terry into the SBJs. Much as I would guess the Dolphins did after losing Tony, Bob, and Bernie to the Hollies.
It's basic beat group stuff, nothing spectacular but still fun to listen to.
For the record, my sources say that Diane's predecessors were named Sondra and Robin. But that's enough titillation for now. |

Thanks for clearing those two matters up, Brandy. Let's wish Terry and Diane all the best and, the same to Sondra and Robin, wherever they are.
Since the Escorts were not as famous as the other British Invasion bands, I would guess there's not much out there from them in terms of releases, but some search in a used record store might turn up some interesting finds. ... |

You're welcome, Vrinda.
I remembered to look at my copy of Terry's "I Believe" CD last night...the one that is autographed "Mike - All the Best, Terry" even though my name is Bruce; hey, I got the CD for free, so what can I say?
Terry's other son's name is Peter. |
