The Hollies are featured on a new US DVD. It is on the "Midnight Special" series of DVDs, which are available by subscription only, through the Midnight Special website. "More 1973" contains The Hollies as they appeared on the late night US TV show, playing "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" absolutely live on stage. This is, of course, the Mikael Rickfors lineup, and he sings the song magnificently. ("Magic Woman Touch", the then-current single, was also performed, but this DVD series concentrates only on each acts' biggest hits. A further note: they also taped "Amazing Grace", but it was not used on the show. Such a shame!) The Hollies are introduced by Harry Chapin. The next DVD in the series, "More 1975" just may contain the band's appearance on the show, this time with Allan Clarke, doing "Long Cool Woman". (They also did "Another Night" on this episode).

Thanks, Dennis. We need more archive releases of this nature. It'll be worth searching this out.

I have this one from eBay on a bit unofficially looking DVDR. Very nice. Thumbs up to Terry and Mikael for doing He ain't heavy in a quite convincing way.
