Hi all,
The Rolling Stones are in Oz and last night played here in Melbourne, sadly I didn't go but from all reports the shows here are brilliant. It's funny they are playing Stones songs on the radio all the time plus giving away tickets, it makes me think what it must have been like in the 60's when bands toured and it was head line news.
Hard to argue with the title the Greatest Rock'N'Roll band in the world.
I saw an interview on 60 minutes last Sunday with the Stones and Keith and Mick really don't have a good word to say about each other, Mick said something like we play together because we are in the same band.
I put the Hollies in the mix with the Beatles & Stones.
The Beatles number 1, Stones at 2 only because of the impact they have had on the world and then the Hollies. But for music I would put the Hollies far infront of the stones.
Bye,
Anthony |

Would love to see the Stones but alas they don't seem to want to come to ireland this year, instead they cancelled and stuck an extra date in Spain. Anyway their Sangria will be no match for our Guinness. hmph.
In fairness it wasn't actually down to the band themselves, there was some courtcase going on between the promotors MCD and Aiken Promotions. |
