Reffering to a swedish newspaper Mikael Rickfors has suffered from a blood-and liverdisease named hematokrom for the last ten years. It has made him extremely tired and he lost his lust for "music, life and sex". He has been diagnosed during the last year and is now treated with blood-letting once a week. "A new life", he says.

In spite of this he released a new, wonderful cd last year and made a tour with Percy Sledge this year. He´s a viking!

A Swede with no sex-drive, there's something you don't hear every day!

Last year's Lush Life CD is excellent, well worth investigating.

I've recently studied the history of the Swedish 60's group The Tages and I've come across an interesting information. In 1968, when Tommy Blom left The Tages, there were rumours about who would replace him. One of the possibilities was Mikael Rickfors.

For those who don't know The Tages, I've got a nice quotation from... Chuck Berry! Chuck Berry said about their song ”The One For You”:”The best record I´ve heard in Sweden. These Gothenburgers are definately the best band in Sweden. They have feeling, musicality and humour. If these guys would come to England, they would be an instant success. They would be placed right under the Beatles and the Stones. Welcome!”

I'm not particularly a fan of Mikael but I wish him good luck and I hope he gets well soon. There is always hope.
Look at Mike Smith from the DC5, after two and half years in hospital they have removed the breathing tube from his throat, he learns slowly but constantly how to improve his life as a tetraplegic and he is finally planning to leave the hospital.
