My purchase of the deleted single "So Damn Beautiful" arrived the other day. Obviously, the A-side is exactly what you expect if you own the album.

I just wanted to comment on the b-sdie and now unavailable through normal channels track "Too Much Too Soon." It's a song that does not deserve its cruel fate of being withdrawn from the market. The track would have fit in nicely on the Staying Power album, as it's performed in a style that's much like the rest of the album. Why it's not an album track is beyond my understanding.

The single So Damn Beautiful / Too Much Too Soon is, unfortunately, not out there to buy at your local record store. However, if you do a search for it on the UK Amazon website, you'll surely find copies at inflated prices. FWIW, there's a sticker on my CD jewel case that says something to the effect that you should not have to pay more than 2 pounds for the disc.

Trust me, I paid more than two pounds. But, I've got it now, thank goodness.

Finally, I believe that Too Much Too Soon is available as a bonus track on the Japanese pressing of the Staying Power CD. So if you can't find the single on Amazon, that's another place to seek the song out.

Cheers,

Scott

So, what do you think of SDB? I personally feel it's a great song.

Well, I was intending for this thread to be about the b-side.

But to answer your question, I'd say that So Damn Beautiful is one of the more commercial-sounding tracks on the album. And I mean that in a good way.

Let's put it this way -- if NSync or one of those boy bands could produce the exact same performance (maybe even hiring the Hollies to provide the musicianship Laughing ) that the Hollies gave, then the song would be a #1 hit.

I wonder if Shayne Ward could do it justice? Laughing

After thinking about it, I couldn't imagine anyone but Peter singing it.
