I think I have (or at least have seen) most of these.
The only 'Curly Billy...' I have is from 'Top Of The Pops', is this one different? I also only have 'Amnesty' from 'Disco'.
All we need now is someone to put all this + other footage together. What a shame BR Music couldn't do it, as their Dave Dee DVD is indeed superb, possibly the best collection of 60s footage around on anyone. |

Here's a very interesting Beatles site:
http://www.bamiyanshiff.com/beatlesonvideos/
This lists all of the known Beatles (including solo) TV appearances from 1962 to 2005, including in most cases 'stills'. Wouldn't it be great if a Hollies fan did something similar!?
Any volunteers? |

I could attempt to compile a USA list, with all of the TV performances I am aware of. A few, such as their appearances on The Red Skelton Show in 1965 and Cleveland Ohio's local teen show Upbeat in 1966, doing "Bus Stop", are not in circulation among collectors. Wonder if anyone has them? |

There was a list made once, I can check that in my collection. However, the 3 volume book Crosby Stills Nash (and sometimes Young) also has a lot of TV and concert stuff on the Hollies from the period GN was with them.
By the way, everyone is now welcome to visit my website
http://kskyberg.home.online.no
It includes a few pages on Hollies in Norway and Sweden, and will be updated soon about Sweden. |

Very interesting Knut, thanks for putting that together. I knew they also did I Can't Let Go at that Swedish concert but I had no idea about Cool Jerk etc. Perhaps one day we will hear these...
Also the picture of the Hollies on stage in the '70s is cool, one rarely gets to see pictures of them in concert from other eras. Did you take it yourself?

Hi Micheal
Thanks for visiting the site. Yes I have taken all the pictures myself. In fact I would not dare using other material without consent.
Since I never went to Sweden for any concerts. I am relying on photos from my contacts there.
I realize we are getting off topic here, maybe we should start a new thread.
Best wishes from Knut |

It would be good if a decent DVD was issued of tv appearences. I have got a video tape of them from 1995 performing 'He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother' it was a show on BBC 1, presented by Noel Edmonds. |

Hi Knut,
Just had a look at your site, you have done a fantastic job.
The Hollies had a few spots on Australian TV. while on tour:
2 songs on a show called the Mike Walsh show in February 1983, He ain't heavy plus Stop in the name of love.
Interview with Allan Bobby & Tony on a show called "Sounds" in the same year.
Interview on Sounds again in May 1987 with Tony & Bobby while on tour here.
A show the Hollies made in Australia called "Don't get sunburnt" in 1971.
I'm sure the Hollies did more TV spots on their many trips to Australia but these I know took place. |

I presume Don't Get Sunburnt is lost now?
It sounds like the most intersting bit of TV they ever did though.

Sadly I think the show is lost forever, I have one song on video from the show "Too Young To Be Married" |

Cool. Is it a good performance? Do they show Tony doing the solo this time?
And dare I ask... are they wearing band suits?

Hi,
The band did not have suits and Tony is seen doing his solo with his head bobbing up and down, I also have another video of Too Young to be married a German clip where they cut out him playing the solo and put some footage from Hey Willy.
I remember when I got the clip from Don't get Sunburnt I was over the moon, with LCW it's my favourite Hollies song and I would have loved to see Tony sing it as he did a couple of years back on Tour when Carl was still with us. |
