Hollies TV specials, now how many have we had over the years. Okay lets think, Gordon spoke of a 1969 special plus the one from Canada.
Now I have seen two from Germany, one from about 1976 and the other from 1984. We had our Aussie one "Don't get Sunburnt" from 1971.
I'm sure they had more over the years. |

I once got a list of all Cat Stevens songs, and underneath each song I listed any/ever known flim clip of Stevens performing the song. I think it is interesting to know if any visual record survives of a particular song, especially a live version.
For Cat Stevens only about 2 or 3 hours worth of footage exists, I reckon, for the Hollies it is well over 10 that we comfortably know about. God knows what is out there. I think I will being to compile a similar list of Hollies visual performances. Surely some of you folk will help if I make a start?

I recall In the early To mid seventies a Hollies TV special on TV here in Australia which featured R&J Stone who had a hit at the time called We do it.
I dont know were it was filmed but I have a copy somewhere on audio cassette as it was before VCRs existed. & does anyone have any info on this show. Cheers Paul. |

Have you seen the Cat Stevens DVD, it's a live concert with bonus material.
I have seen it in the shops, look great.

Thanks for the tip Anthony. I picked up a few months ago and it is a great show. It was brilliant for a professionally filmed real concert to just 2turn up" like that.
If you like Stevens, it is a good buy.

It's a perfect DVD... one of my absolute favourite ones!
I've also seen the new Queen DVD "Live At The Bowl" which is also great! |

I've got that Queen DVD too, it's brilliant, what a showman Freddie was and that voice. |

Rush In Rio is simply astounding. Bonus documentary and archive videos too. |

So, with another clip from the BBC In Concert surfacing the other day, when are we going to see the whole thing? Surely there must be loads of these concert specials that the BBC could clean up and put on as part of a series of archive performances? It's bloody infuriating when there's so much top-drawer material out there that Joe Public can't see... |

BBC 4 showed a few old In Concerts from the early '70s last year including Chuck Berry which was really cool though somebody taped over my copy leaving only two songs. Terrible!
They also recently showed a nice compilation of Ronnie Lane material including The Faces and The Small Faces from a variety of shows.
I don't think the beeb actually has much on The Hollies except for a few bits of TOTP and that special. They never did an In Concert did they? And Colour Me Pop is missing.
Did they ever do the likes of Russel Hearty in the early 70s?
