While perusing the Internet I came across the following and thought, what a great opportunity for The Hollies since Cliff Richards himself is involved. Perhaps Peter or Steve can ring him up to see if there's a chance to participate. I've heard that Robin and Barry Gibb (Bee Gees) have also been asked to join the project. Anyway, here's the article.....
"British music stars are joining forces to release a charity single to raise millions for the victims of the Asian tsunamis, the broadcaster behind the song." |

Hi Holliesfan
I would be lovely if The Hollies joined in the project but I wouldn't put my hopes up because the band never seem to get invited to do anything worth while and that's a real shame concidering they've been around for 42 years and are one of the most popular and biggest bands of all time. They also play to sell out concerts everywhere they perform.

They did add a song to a chairty record many years ago when Graham Nash was in the band.
I just can't think why they aren't invited to do these things today. Maybe they should take the initiative and do it themselves? |

They also took part in an environmental charity record with a lot of German artists in the late eighties and Tony Hicks was one of 'The Crowd' on the Hillsborough charity record. Not forgetting the 'Heavy' recording with the Coronation Street cast. (not a charity record) It was a wonderful new version of the song, and ruined entirely by the cast.

The Hollies contributed a track on a charity album for The World Wildlife Fund, 'No Ones Gonna Change Our World', which was issued in 1969. Their track is 'Wings' and The Beatles contributed a track, 'Across The Universe' that version can be found on the 'Past Masters 2' album, The Beegees and Cliff Richard also provided songs. But the album wasn't very sucessfull and Spike Milligan organised the album. |
