Did the hollies not open their 85 and 87 shows with 'Stop In The Name Of Love'?

Very Happy Gordon J, I don't know about 85 and 87, etc., but in 83 at King's Island they opened with "I Can't Let Go"; I was there, honest!

I'm sure they opened a few times with it.

Nobody's doubting that David, All three issues of the CD start with 'I Can't Let Go' which is interesting because I'm sure in the late sixties and throughout the seventies they allways started their concerts with that one. I think however, by the early eighties they had got out of the habit. They must have had some particular reason to go back to it. Could it be cos it was their first concert with Graham for 15 years Question

I thought I'd treat myself to a post-Nash CD on Amazon...but I've just ordered this instead! Wink

I look forward to comparing Nash's performance on this album to Terry's on the 1976 'live' album.

Nash is dreadful on 'Air' and not much better on 'Carrie Ann' but otherwise it's an interesting CD.

I think it works best on the CSN songs. Allan and Tony seem to be able to meet Graham on those songs but Graham doesn't seem to be able to fit with The Hollies on their songs.

I wasn't over-impressed by Graham's performance of 'Carrie-Anne' on that U.S. TV show they did during this period ('Super Night of Rock & Roll' or something similar). The mixing didn't help though, with Graham far louder than Allan.

That concert was put out on the radio in the U.S. in the year after the concert. The program was called "The Source," and I happened to tape record it at the time.

Even on that radio show played back in the fall of 83 or spring of 84 (can't remember which), "If The Lights Go Out" was not included.

Strange.

I was at that concert, by the way, and I too think that this song should be included.

I attended the two shows at the Bottom Line in New York in '83. The first show they opened with "I Can't Let Go", but the second show began with "Stop in the Name of Love". And, yes, there was no good reason for "If The Lights Go Out" (one of the few good tracks on WGA) to be excluded from the CD. If anything, that weak remake of "Just One Look" should have been omitted.

I agree Dennis, give me the original 1964 version of 'Just One Look' anyday. Everytime I play What Goes Around I skip that silly weak 'Just One Look'.
