What a list,
Okay here I go,
Athol Guy, The Seekers
Ronnie Burns
The Hipsters
People I have asked for an autograph without really talking too:
Judith Durham
Cliff Richard
Dame Edna
Athol and Ronnie were two of the nicest people you could meet. |

Oops, I was reading through my list and noticed that I forgot someone I also met The Manfreds (formerly known as Manfred Mann) when they came to Penrith in 1998 and 1999.

I saw Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac founder) Splinter Group a couple of years ago when they toured Australia. I went back stage before the gig and got autographs on a CD booklet. Green and Nigel Watson were not very talkative but Pete Stroud (bass) and Larry Tolfree (drums) were very nice. Had a brief chat with them both. It made the show a lot more enjoyable having had personal contact.
Also met and spoke with Eric Haydock when he toured with his "Hollies" band. To quote the blurb on the back of "Would You Belive" album cover "Eric is something of an enigma." We spent a few minutes talking but there was something about him that I can't really define. |

I have met:
The Hollies
Allan Clarke
Graham Nash
Tony Hicks
Bobby Elliott
Carl Wayne
Alan Coates
Ray Stiles
Ian Parker
Eric Haydock (used to buy music equipment from his shop in Stockport)
Gordon Giltrap
I did a sound engineering course in 1995 and there was a lad on this course called Mike Rix who was the son of a 60's bass (I think) player. I can't for the life of me recall the first name of this guy or the band he was with though. Dunno if that really counts?
There was a band in the 60's called The Marauders who had just one UK hit. I used to know Howard, their drummer as he had a record shop in Manchester which I used to visit frequently. We spent many hours talking about the Hollies as, of course, he knew them way back when.
He's not a singer (so far as I know!) but I've met Jim Marshall
I walked past Bev Bevan in the street before an E.L.O. Part 2 concert and foolishly didn't say hello! That doesn't really count either does it?
I'm sure I've met others, I just cant recall right now |
