Has anyone heard The Hollies live recording of this show circa 1971? I know it was never officially released. They appearently did a version of Woodstock.
I've seen a "Hollies live cover" of Riders on The Storm for download. Is this for real? Could it be from this show?

Hi Micheal,
I have not heard of that recording, I know Riders in the Storm is from the 90's. I did download it and the intro is nice by Tony, In his intro somebody yells our we want a Hollies songs and Tony says later. |

I don't know what show it's from but I found Woodstock a couple of years back. The quality isn't great (although certainly listenable) but their version really rocks! |

Riders on the Storm is excellent - the version I have is from '92, Clarke uses the increasingly important lower registers of his voice quite well, and the sound quality is suh-weet! |

The only problem with the recording of 'Riders In The Storm' is that Ian Parker's beutiful keyboard backing isn't too clear.

I'll have to give it another listen. But I believe the keyboard is downright non-existent on my copy. Now I "know" what I'm missing. |

I have it from an unimpeachable source that the Singapore show was indeed professionally recorded for possible use on a live album.
That would have been Clarke's last tour before he went solo and recorded "My Real Name Is 'Arold."
I can only guess that it was put on the shelf after Rickfors replaced Allan, and then after Clarke came back they band recorded the Christchurch show, and the Singapore performance pretty much was forgotten. |
