I'VE JUST BOUGHT A COPY OF THE RECENTLY RELEASED REUNION CD.
RECORDED LIVE AT A CONCERT IN CINCINNATI IN 1983 I DON'T KNOW WHY IT'S TAKEN OVER 20 TEARS TO RELEASE, IT'S A CRACKER WITH A DECENT MIX OF SONGS INCLUDING A COUPLE OF CROSBY STILLS NASH NUMBERS THOUGH MY FAVE IS THE 10 MINUTE+ VERSION OF LONG COOL WOMAN. WHAT DOES EVERYBODY ELSE THINK?

Surprised Finally, a CD of a great performance! I was there (Timberwolf/King's Island), and Tony going CRAZY on "Long Cool Woman" was simply incredible!!!

There has been a CD of this performance for some years - The Hollies, Hello Graham Nash, Cincinnati 1983, released by Flashback Worldproductions. The number is GENSCH 1007. I bought it in England a long time ago and you can still find it in the music shops.

Like you said, a good CD.

Sounds like a Fab cd, sadly "Archive Alive" leaves out a couple of numbers plus some talking. I love live cds. Oh well back to the Hollies section in Gaslight, not that many Hollies cd's now in store, now who got in first for a change, Chirpy said he did visit the store and my fellow fan from Melbourne may have popped in.

It's certainly an interesting album, a bit heavy on the synths thou. LCW is fantastic, but Nash murders Air and luckily keeps pretty quiet during Heavy. I still remember a relative walking in when Air was on the CD player and hearing Nash and the person saying 'Who the hell is singing that??!' I also think Nash is out of tune in Carrie-Anne, but, overall a fine little slice of early 80's live material. Does anybody have the 20 Years to Life compilation which has live versions of Blowin' In The Wind and Write On recorded in Germany in the early 80's? Question

WAYYY too much synth and not enough guitar. It's interesting how Nash's voice is so off on the Hollies songs, but Clarke and Hicks are able to meet him on the CSN songs and produce lovely versions of Teach Your Children and Wasted on the Way.

I also think Look Through Any Window is excellent with Tony having fun on his part.

Yes, Clarke/Hicks really do excel on the CSN tunes. I must say, I do like the live version of Soldier's Song and Stop! In The Name of Love.

Stop! In The Name of Love is the opening number of the set on the present tour James.

A nice fast-paced number to kick things off!

Shocked Really!?! Stop! In The Name Of Love is first??? I believe the cd has been rearranged. That night, smoke billowed from the stage, as The Hollies opened with, I Can't Let Go.

A brave choice to open with I thought, especially as it wasn't a hit over here, but a welcome one nonetheless - it rocks!

Very Happy OK, Stop! In The Name Of Love opens the present tour, right?; "never mind..." By the way, this song is better than the original; tremendous energy!!! Hmmm, it would be perfect to open an American tour!

Am I the only visitor to this forum who actually attended that show in the summer of 1983?

I took and still have photos from that show, so I can tell you that "concert photos" on the cover of the CD's, including that bootleg, were NOT taken during that taped performance.

Also, the new CD as released includes, I believe, every song that the band performed that night except "If The Lights Go Out."

Yep, that cover pic looks more like it was from around '85-'87. Notice the 'convenient' omission of whoever was stood on stage-right (likely Coatsey).

But they did If The Lights Go Out!?!? Shocked Why oh why has that not been put on any of the CD releases? I think I shall just go away now and sob uncontrollably in a corner...

Shocked I'm with you on "If The Lights Go Out"; It's one of the strongest songs from their reunion album! Great passion and energy, with a message!!! It's almost like an evolution song of The Hollies, and CSN.
