Hi All
I read somewhere that there is a Hollies version of He Aint Heavy with Terry singing the lead vocal does anyone knows any details of the recording of this? I always thought Alan sung lead vocal on it!

Allan Clarke sang it.

Mikael Rickfors supposedly did a fine version when he took over. Apparently they appeared on American TV a lot during the Rickfors years, so it is surprising that nothing live from this period has surfaced. Perhaps somebody else has seen a Rickfors LIVE TV appearence?

Im expecting a US TV appearence video soon which features The Hollies singing it in '73, however, I don't know if its before or after Clarke re-joined.

EDITED IN FOOTNOTE: I do not believe I will be getting the Rickfors appearence but Rickfors did appear on another episode of The Midnight Special in '73 and they did Magic Woman Touch and He Ain't Heavy.

Rob have you ever seen a clip with Rickfors singing an older Hollies tune?

Thanks Michael, I guess its a promoter blowing terrys contributions to a Hollies tune out of proportion as promoters often do!

Interesting side note Martin.

I have a live performance from German TV from the 70s. On the last line Allan sings "He ain't heavy" and then picks up his gob organ to play it, and Terry sings "he's my brother".

I guess he was giving Allan the chance to catch his breath before his solo.
