I have read that the acoustic version of Magic Woman Touch on the Epic Hollies Anthology is something very special. Is this true? Does anyone have an opinion of it?

Also is it availble anywhere other than the Epic anthology?

Micheal

This version also appeared on an album called The Mikael Rickfors Years. I believe it may have been a bootleg. It contained Out On The Road and some bonus tracks.

Magic Woman Touch acoustic is actually quite lovely.

It does indeed appear on the US compact disc "Epic Anthology."

The "Rickfors Years" disc is a boot, containing the impossible-to-find album "Out On The Road" plus some bonus tracks. If you ever find it, you must snap it up.

The Rickfors era was very underrated, with great stuff that can sound contemporary even today. Its ending was not one of the band's finer moments.

...and I've just downloaded the Rickfors-era track 'Witchy Woman' (yep, the Eagles song). Blimey, what a superb version. I'd almost go as far as to say that it beats the original. Time for a major re-appraisal of this era and some remastered releases. Who know's, even the new Howarth-fronted band could deleve a little further into the Rickfors era material than just 'The Baby'.

Hi James!

I've never heard the original version but the Hollies version is great!
Should have made it on an album...

Distant Light, you've never heard the original version of Witchy Woman by The Eagles?

It's on their first, self-titled album, and it's great country-rock, not unlike the best music ever recorded by Poco. In fact, the Eagles bassist, Randy Meisner, is a former Poco member.

I heartily recommend the first Eagles album (it's from 1971), as I do the follow LP from the next year, "Desperado."

Hi Sparty!

I've just discovered the Eagles. I bought Hotel California for 4,99 Euro some days ago and I really like it. I will look for other albums and maybe buy them if I find them for the right price.
