trivia for the fans from Down Under while just thinking back to the 70s: the "Litte River Band" and "Sherbet" were very good openers around 76/77, maybe too good (their sound was turned down),but well appreciated over here! (Remark off topic: I like "Cold Chisel" very much and you have a lot of good bands over there!) |

Thanks Gina. I knew of Sherbet supporting the Hollies but wasn't aware the other was Little River Band. |

Hi Gina
I too know that Sherbet supported The Hollies when they went to England. Sherbet were my favourite group at the time (followed closely by The Hollies )and I have every record they ever recorded. I still remember how pleased I was at my 2 favourite groups performing at the same shows. And at that time 1976/77, Sherbert were the most popular group in Australia and Lead Singer Daryl Braithwaite was Australia's King Of Pop.

Hi Susie,
Do you remember the Silver Studs, they had the hit with Happy Days, well they were one of the support acts for the Hollies back in 75 or 76. The last two visits to Australia the Hollies did the whole show, great value for money. John Farnham was also one of the support acts for the band in the late 60's or early 70's., now what ever happened to him? |

Hi Anthony
Yes I do remember The Silver Studs and I have their record Happy Days that I still play every now and then. I did see The Silver Studs Live once when they were support act for Sherbet. I didn't know that The Silver Studs and John Farnham supported The Hollies, as the saying goes I find out something new everyday.

Hi Anthony.
See my review of the Hollies at Langeland festival in Denmark. John Farnham also played there. Knut |

I've been enjoying the music of 'The Rasberries' recently, but don't tell Tony or Bob.
