Interesting interview - you wished it went on longer !

considering it was supposed to be discussing 'Changin Times' (1969-73 era) they spoke little about that period - neither Terry Sylvester or Mike Rickfors were mentioned once (which frankly came as no surprise to me) instead much was made re Graham Nash's departure (in December 1968) and re their meetings with their American musical friends in the crowd of Mamas & Papas, Crosby, Stills, plus Joni Mitchell etc - all of which pre-dated the 1969-73 period the new set covers !

Good to hear 'Survival of The Fittest' (the 1970 recut - with Terry Sylvester) and 'Don't Give Up Easily', tho' I think Bobby was possibly confusing 'Another Night' (1975) where Alan Parsons played Paul & Linda McCartney's moog synth' (from 'Band On The Run') with the earlier moog used on 'Don't Give Up Easily' back in 1969

I suspect that was the same moog used on The Beatles 'Abbey Road' album - notable on 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer', 'Here Comes The Sun' 'I Want you' etc - (recorded alongside 'Hollies Sing Hollies' in the latter part of 1969 and released in October & November 1969 respectively) - Tony Hicks was one of the first people to hear 'Abbey Road' as Paul played it to him at Abbey Road studios to get Tony's opinion (Tony said he preferred it to 'Sgt Pepper' tho' Paul thought 'Pepper' was the better album)

An early issue of 'Record Collector' mag had a photo from those days which showed Ex-Manfred Mann guitarist & Hollies arranger Mike Vickers and George Harrison programming the early moog synth which looked something like an old telephone switchboard with cables everywhere !

it's quite possible Mike Vickers played that early synth' (with George & Paul on 'Abbey Road') and he might have played it on 'Don't Give Up Easily' too as he was arranging the accompaniment for The Hollies from 'For Certain Because...' (1966) and 'Evolution' (1967) up to the 1968 'Blowin in The Wind' Nash version

Mike Vickers released a few solo albums which featured moog synth' and was involved with the engineering side of things for groups like Gentle Giant in that early seventies era too.

The young Alan Parsons might have been there too (maybe he did play), tho' he appears to have become involved with The Hollies a little later around 1973-74 as assistant recording engineer & of course played on 'Another Night' in 1975 then produced 'Boulder To Birmingham' early in 1976 with Terry & Allan both doing guest lead vocals for his Alan Parsons Project in 1975 (Terry on 'To One in Paradise') & 1977 (Allan on 'Breakdown')

Overall a good interview (Bobby doesn't have a publisher as yet for his book it seems ?) just a pity they didn't talk longer !
