When I was in the UK a few years back I picked up a double album cd called "I wasn't born yesterday / The only one. It seems to be the same list of songs. Look forward to more of Allans music on cd.

Hi Rob Exclamation

Allan Clarke has always been a very talented singer and he does have a very distinct voice and I hope his new CD sells really well. He was my second favourite Hollie (after Tony) and I was stunned when I heard of his retirement.

Anyway, I know the answers to 3 of the questions in your competition, now all I have to do is find the answers to the 2 I don't know so I can enter it.

All The Best

Susie

The 2 on 1 CD which you talk about, Anthony, omits The Man Who Manufactures Daydreams, a great track from 'I Wasn't Born Yesterday' (so that both albums could fit onto a single CD). The Heroes and Survivors 2CD is worth it's weight in gold for Born To Run and If I Were The Priest alone, it also adds If You Walked Away - all three are bonus tracks. Cool

Now all we need is some chap to re-release Clarkey's other albums on CD - which was supposed to have started with '....'arold' last year - but didn't! Crying or Very sad

You may be interested that its available from Streetsonline.co.uk for £8.99 + £1.00 postage. (Recommended price £10.49). I'm guessing that it may take some finding in the High Street stores.

Hi KP - I think it is available at similar price from Amazon. Might surprise you -- I think it will be available in quite a few stores. Sanctuary usually get their product out on time and well marketed. Surprised The problem begins as to where it is filed in the store - don't suppose there will be an 'Allan Clarke' section - might get filed amogst Hollies, then again, if it's like a few of my local high street retailers, just as likely to be found in the Frank Zappa section! Rolling Eyes Shocked

Interestingly, the sleeve notes seem to think the 70's was not that creative for the band Shocked and that Allan didn't think that much of A Crazy Steal Shocked Did he not like it, or is this just the usual pap? Wink

Some of my favourite songs from this cd are.
I wasn't born yesterday
No prisoners taken
Who's goin' out the back door?
The Survivor
Imaginations child
Legenary Heroes (Best song on the cd)

I also have a German video clip of Slipstream, Allan's on stage with some brilliant dancers.

I would just like to congratulate Peej, John and Keith for being the winners of Allan's Heroes And Survivers CD. Well done to the 3 of you.

I never entered the competition because I didn't have all 5 answers. The one I didn't know the answer to was who wrote If I were The Priest (but now I do after seeing the answers). Oh Well! 4 of out 5 isn't bad.

All The Best

Thanks for your comments, Susie. And thanks to Rob for organising the competition. I admit that I had to do some research to get all the correct answers. Can't wait to listen to the CD!

Hi, Susie,

Like you, it was the "If I Were The Priest" song that kept me from answering all the questions correctly. I couldn't find the answer so took a wild guess. I was wrong. Oh, well, it was fun.

All the Best,

Shari

Hi Shari Exclamation

So you had the same dilemma as me Question I thought that Allan himself might have wrote "If I Were The Priest" but then I thought "that's too obvious", then my mind went blank and I couldn't think of anyone else.

All The Best

Susie
