Hi James!
I've bought Happy Man Don't Kill!
It's really good; the best song is in my opinion the title track!
For my taste there are too many slow songs on it but it's a good album anyway! |

Would you believe (pardon the Hollies pun ) that I'm still waiting on my copy of Happy Men Don't Kill from JPC? I'm well brassed off - I haven't seen it anywhere else, so I'll just hold on (another Hollies pun ). Glad to find another Rickfors fan out there ! |

Yes, it's damn hard to find. I saw it on ebay and that was the first time I've seen it somewhere.
But I'm really glad that I finally got it, because I was looking for it quite a long time!
I'm sure you will get yours soon! You can really look forward to it!
I've listened to Happy Man Don't Kill and Judas River again and they are both great albums! The song Happy Man Don't Kill is a killer track, one of the very best songs he ever wrote. After the second listen I would say that the album Judas River is a bit better but I can change my opinion after some listens again.
You should look out for Kickin' A Dream Around and Tender Turns Tuff. These two are totally strong albums, great stuff on them. I would even consider Tender Turns Tuff as the best song he ever wrote (from the songs I know), but Happy Man Don't Kill comes close![/i] |

I have emailed JPC, and depending on their response, I will cancel the order as I have found another seller (in the UK) who will probably be cheaper. |

What's up James?
Did you hear anything from JPC or did you use the other seller?
Let me know when you've got it and what you think about it. |

Hi DistantLight
JPC emailed me to say they apologised, but they could no longer get it! Similarly, the other seller could not locate it either (basically, he had to order it to sell it to me ). I've given up for the time being - I'll keep checking various sources...
By the way, have you heard Rickfors latest album - Lush Life? It's very good, very jazzy , but his voice is still good.

Hi James!
I haven't heard Lush Life yet, I didn't even knew that it exists! Thanks for the info!
But that's great, if we can't get a new Hollies one we get a Mikael Rickfors one, that's good too!!! I checked that out at the allmusic guide. He wrote only two songs on the complete album? But anyway, I'd love to have this one! I looked on Amazon.de but they haven't listed it. Do you know in which countries the album is released or if it will be released in Germany?
I've read it's from 2004 so maybe it isn't yet out in Germany.
Where did you get your one, from the internet or from a store?
I'll search for it and I hope I will get it somehow.
I'll let you know! |

Hi again
I didn't know that it existed either until someone else mentioned it on this board. The CD is supposed to be a collection of his favourite songs, recorded in a jazz style. I obtained my copy from http://www.cd-wow.com for £8.99 incl. delivery. They may deliver to Germany - basically, they are so cheap because they send CD's from Hong Kong, therefore about 8 days for delivery and this avoids various taxes I presume. I think that it has been quite a big success in Sweden, and he does appear to be playing a couple of gigs there, but that's the most I can make out, not understanding Swedish at all!
I'd advise you to get a copy - let me know what you think! |
