Thanks for posting this, Anthony. I had not seen it before and. as you say, very interesting reading. I think Derek Quinn, who is mentioned, went on to join Freddie and the Dreamers. Do you remember them? |

thnx anthony - such a great article! i have read lots of stories on 'manchester beat's fantastic site - really entertaining reading for any fan! u can check out stories about the early days of all the great bands and musicians there.

Thanks for the link to the Manchester Beat Anthony, fascinating stuff.
I came across Tony's and Bobby's full names. I thought Bobby's middle name was unusual - Hartley.
Last night I started reading a book I got for Christmas, about the Titanic. It told about the heroic musicians that continued playing while the ship sank. The lead musician's surname was Hartley! I couldn't believe I had read the same name twice in one day. Not only that, Mr Hartley came from Colne in Lancashire, very near to where Bobby and Tony come from.
I wonder if Bobby is related to this Mr Hartley? Both true heroes anyway. |
