Welcome to The Hollies Forum

This forum exists for the promotion and appreciation of The Hollies, the band and their music.

It is a place for friendly discussion amongst fans of the band from all over the world.

This page is designed to clarify the responsibilities of community members here at The Hollies Forum and to set some general rules which you should observe when using our forum. For further information and advice please follow the link to the FAQ page above.

Most of the 'rules' are about common sense and decency so they are not hard to follow. Some, however, relate to the operating restrictions imposed by the actual board operators. If you do not follow these rules, you can be suspended for a period or even refused access to the board.

Any views or opinions expressed in this forum are not necessarily the views or opinions of The Hollies, The Hollies Forum or The Hollies Website.

What is a forum?

A forum is a collection of discussions (posts) on related topics. When you enter a forum, you will see the listing of topics.

In order to avoid participants wasting their time in reading message of no interest to them, the forum is divided into different topics.

Each topic contains an originating message and, if applicable, replies to that message.

Forum rules

Posts/submissions are to be made in the relevant forum/topic. Users are asked to read the forum/topic description before posting. Please make sure you are not starting a topic that has already been started by someone else.

Posting in the wrong forum may lead to your post being ignored or moved and posts that go way off thread may be locked.

When posting Topic titles, please be specific. Messages with vague titles may be ignored.

Do not post the same message in multiple forums.

Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing" and is respectful of all other users.

Please do not type in capital letters. READING POSTS WRITTEN ENTIRELY IN CAPITAL LETTERS CAN BE ANNOYING and is deemed to mean you are shouting.

"Flaming" or abusing other users of the forum or members of the band, past or present, will not be tolerated.

Please note that there are often newcomers here, so please be extra understanding and tolerant (we were all newbies once, right). It is also common courtesy to reply when your question has been answered just to say 'thanks'.

Members should always remember this board is aimed at a general audience and may include youngsters. Posting generally offensive, abusive, bad language or pornographic text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated.

Do not post spam or promotional material or advertising for something un-related to this forum. All such spam posts will be deleted.

Do not post/attach or link to pirated content, including software/movies/music.

Members should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites, not everyone has broadband. The use of inline ([img][/img]) image tags pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to will be removed.

The above forum rules, where applicable, also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to the revocation of private messaging.

If members note an issue which contravenes something in this policy document they are welcome to bring it to the attention of the Administrator.

Please see the seperate post.

The Hollies forum operates a warning system. Users will be warned for contraventions of the above rules. If the need arises a temporary ban may be implemented.

Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact the Administrator.

Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban, registering a new email account to evade an email ban.

Any user who contacts any other members personally (via any method) and posts or sends insulting, indecent or vulgar material may be subject to an immediate permanent ban.

Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While The Hollies Forum may consider lifting permanent bans from time to time this will be a very rare occurrence.

Anyone who is considered to be a bad influence on the forum or it is felt not to be entering in to the spirit of the forum may be denied further access at the Administrators discretion with immediate effect.

The Administrator reserves the right to edit, move or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as inappropriate, indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to the Administrator and not users.

Thank you. Rob
