Sad to hear the news today that Jimmy Saville has passed away. He presented the first ever Top of the Pops show in 1964, which featured The Hollies. I seem to recall Bobby Elliott once saying in an interview that Jimmy said The Hollies were "The groups' group".

Yes, sad news indeed.

Jimmy was a big fan of the Hollies and I remember him calling them the group's group back in the sixties.

Jimmy made a surprise guest appearance when the Hollies were playing in Scarborough a few years ago. Rob has a photo of Jimmy with the band that night.

Thanks for the memories, Jimmy.
