Yes, we know the version by Cub on the Hollies tribute CD.
But there's more:
We have the Guess Who, before Burton Cummings was on lead vocals

Mary McCarthy, from 1967 (evidently, it's the B-side to a cover of I'm Alive!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExyqBKCbCCM
The Attack (no, I've never heard of them, either)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvmpoh2R5VE
And finally, a Dutch group called The Waistcoats, from 2000

Could not find a youtube video for Cub's version, from the Hollies tribute CD.
For a song built around a riff stolen from a great garage band rock song, this has surely been covered many times! |

Whoops--I have most of those in some form but wasn't even aware I had a couple of them. I also have a version by a Sydney, Australia band called Johnny Veen with the Sharades, on an Aussie garage comp called Devil's Children Vol. 2.
The Garage Comp Database is also listing the Stags (Vancouver), the Teenmakers (Denmark), and Los Potros ('90s Spaniards), but I don't have the comps they're on so I can't confirm if those are H. covers or originals with the same title. |

Is the fact that today is "International Louie Louie Day" the reason you brought this up?
