Has anyone seen this recent Hollies' clip from 1981 when they did Top of The Pops and Graham Nash came over to appear! Cool

Thanks Sylvia, I hadn't seen this before. I don't recognise the bass player, I'm guessing it's Steve Stroud.

It is Eric.

Thanks Hakan and Knut - I didn't realise the 'original' five (from 1963 when the hits started) got together for this! I guess it was just for the TOTP performance?

Dawn, the band allegedly had Eric in the studio when they first attempted to cut new material with Graham.

But supposedly Eric "could not play in the modern style" or something like that.

That was a strange time, as Bernie Calvert was replaced on a song when HE evidently couldn't please the band.

And really, when you listen to the finished product on the What Goes Around album, does anything really think that either Haydock or Calvert couldn't have played those songs?

Like I said, that was a strange time.

Yes Spartyscott, it seems there must have been a problem with a bass player at the time, especially as there's only Allan, Graham, Tony & Bobby on the cover of the What Goes Around album, which is a statement in itself. On Wikipedia, it says at the request of the BBC, Nash and Haydock rejoined to promote the single on Top of the Pops, whether that's true or not.
