The Christmas 2010 issue of RC, no 383, has the name "Hollies" on the front page, and features a 2-page TV special review on the making of On a carousel, from Granada TV 1967.
Also a quite reasonable review of Then now always, plus a review of the two Sundazed vinyl reissues of the mono LPs Here I go again and Hear! Here!

I agree with the statement about Then now always that goes like this:

"...some fine examples of the rich harmonies and melodies that have kept the group in our hearts."

Would you believe the Hollies had power to stay by evolution of their style from Buddy Holly ? That's for certain because they follow what goes around, write on and go out on the road. They did it then, they do it now - please do it always.

Thanks for clarifying this as the Christmas issue...I was flipping through the December issue at a newsstand yesterday and thought I was nuts for not seeing any mention of our heroes within it.

In the same issue Ray Stiles is also mentioned with his first band Mud in the article 'Christmas Sheets'. They had a number one hit with their Christmas song in 1974.

Thanks for the info Knut. I'll walk up to the local shop tomorrow to see if I can get a copy. My car is buried under snow at the moment, so it can stay there! (we're not used to snow here Laughing !)

Interesting little article on the TV footage. The Hollies get pretty good coverage in RC always.
