Notice in the new Record Collector bands like the Searchers, Marmalade and the Tremeloes have new CDs out called "BBC Sessions". If these bands can get their BBC recordings issued then it's about time the Hollies got their act together and got theirs out. Surely Paul Hicks could do the studio/mastering work on it.

Hi Chris. The BBC sessions do exist as there was a bootleg of these several years ago. Poor quality but interesting. Like yourself, I have no idea why like the bands you mention, the hollies have never had an official CD of thier BBC sessions.

I think someone mentioned this a while ago, either here or somewhere else.
I was wondering who you could contact at the BBC to ask about this, there are so many BBC session Collections available now it's a crime the hollies aren't included! |

Anthony asked this same question under Words and Music - Live at the BBC on May 20th. Good memory Peej. |

Great idea Chris, great minds think alike, I thought I saw this subject before. Who has a bootleg of these BBC sessions? |

I'm aware of the bootlegs. Mostly very poorly done. My question is if lower tier bands like Searchers, Marmalade ane the Tremeloes can get official releases of their BBC material than what prevents the Hollies from getting some of the same out? Does the band care or is too hard a task for them? |

I'd imagine it would be the BBCs decision basicaly but I cant help feeling the band may have a say in it also. It would interesting to know why they would not wish such a thing. After all, BBC recording sessions were allways of the highest standard.
