I'm not going to review the whole Hollies' catalog right now, but I'll take a stab at it. The order listed is the order that the songs occurred to me, not my preferred order:

1. Mickey's Monkey
2. Survival of the Fittest
3. Hold On (I was just thinking about this song today)
4. Don't Give Up Easily
5. Set Me Free
6. Think It Over
7. The Mighty Quinn
8. Rubber Lucy
9. My Love

It's so hard to list songs, because Bobby has never been one of those "five minutes drum solo" kind of guys, and of course drumming usually gets noticed on fast songs only.

I'll limit my "top 10" to nine songs only for now. Maybe something will occur to me later.

I agree with your first choice 10 fold Scott - Bobby really excells himself on Mickeys Monkey - His drum technique is raw powerful and upfront and personal - Amazing.

Other Fave Bobby Belters are :

I Can't Let Go
Jennifer Eccles
I Take What I Want - Live BBC Recording
Stop, Stop Stop - Live Beat, Beat Beat
Long Cool Woman - Live 1976

On watching my numerous clips of The Hollies (personal) and on you tube - I have to say that Bobby Elliott is a total legend - You can't beat him Cool

This will be my first post since joining. I've been enjoying looking at all the pictures and reading all the comments when I get a chance. Since I think Mr. Bobby Elliott is the greatest drummer ever, I thought it was time to post something.
Of course, I think most of the early rockers would qualify but my first choice would be I'm Alive, just great all around. Then things like Here I Go Again, Mickey's Monkey, Rockin' Robin, Why Didn't You Believe, Leave Me and even He Ain't Heavy, probably not on many lists, but I always think it's a bit of a contest in the middle between Allan's strong, emotional voice and Bobby's soulful yet powerful drums. He even shines on the ballads, incredible!

In the early 1990's I was lucky to see Bobby playing a pub gig with a few of his musician friends. I was able to stand within 10 feet (3m) of his drum kit.
His band started by playing 3 jazz type instrumental numbers which were quite sedate, then out of the blue they let rip with a host of early sixties and late fifties up tempo songs. Bobbies drumming was the most outstanding and exciting that I have ever witnessed. So yes he is the best for sure.
