on a obscure rarities vol 2 cd a track is from the swdish (?) band the Lee kings. It's is suggested that these are originally the hollies, under an other name or htat the hollies helpe this band with this track. The song is "coming from the ground" dated 1967.
I got some info outof Germany, bus who knows more ?

LeeKings was a swedish band wich started out as Lenne & the LeeKings. Lenne was the leadsinger, Lenne Broberg. They had a few big hits in Sweden (L.O.D. and Stop the music).
In 1967 Allan Clarke and Graham Nash helped them producing a single, Coming from the ground, with Day tripper as the flipside. I´ve got the single, it´s on RCA-Victor, FAS796. The cover has 13 lovely pictures from the recordingsession. It´s obvious that Allan and Graham gave the LeeKings a helping hand.
Hope this could be an answer to your question. |

Yes, I've seen this single. The song was written by Clarke-Hicks-Nash. I've got the song on CD, on the Rock-in-Beat compilation Complette Collection RB 020. |

Coming from the ground is also on the album by Nicky James (yes - there you've got the James) and also playing on that album is Kirk Duncan. On the Nicky James album Allan Clarke is not listed as co-writer. You also find the song Good day on that album, with the same composers, and that song was also recorded by John Walker on the LP If you go away, also featuring Reaching for the sun, with the same writers. They also penned the single A minor hit Annabella for John Walker. |
