Just delighted to have found out that our Hollies have been given this well deserved accolade. Congratulations boys!

I couldn't get the link to work but what a fantastic night it was. And they said Allan couldn't sing.

I just finished watching the RRHOF. Before The Hollies were inducted, I spotted Alan and Graham in the audience and got very excited! It was great to to see both Alan and Graham along with Terry, Bernie, and Eric accepting their awards. I finally got to see Alan and Graham perform together for the first time! I have to say though, I was not impressed with Steve Van Zandt's induction speech; he seem to spend more time digressing on how important the rock music was instead of talking about the Lads.

It would be great to be able to see video footage of the guys getting inducted at some stage.

I'm not sure if that is possible or not. But if it is, it would be greatly appreciated by moi. Smile

Terry Sylvester seemingly unscheduled got up on stage to sing Long Cool Woman. He took the microphone off Train's Pat Monaghan, to sing a few lines before Allan Clarke mid song, stopped playing guitar, took the mike off Terry and returned it to Pat. Very Interesting. This is on you tube.

Terry Sylvester gets denied.

description...
The Hollies' former lead singer, Terry Sylvester, Mr. Green
tried to join in during the band's performance of "Long Cool Woman
In A Black Dress" at the 2010 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction
ceremony. But Allan Clarke took the microphone away from him and
gave it back to Train's lead singer Patrick Monahan.

Why did he do that ???
Are Allan and Terry having an argument ??? Still from older days ??? I really can't understand it. Or is it Terry having difficulties singing the right notes ? Because it doesn't sound too good actually. But it could also be the quality of the vide on youtube. Would really like to see more.

Terry's voice, in my opinion, was completely shot by the mid 90's. Allan's held out slightly longer. Terry should not have been allowed near a mike in NYC. Get the impression he was not meant to have been up there. Look's like he gatecrashed the stage.........and the Waldorf.

What you say sounds about right. Have seen the video and thought about it for a while. My impression is that we should just let it be. The Hollies are finally recognized for the exceptional band they were and great people. We all can share in that accolade because we knew long ago that they were one of the best groups ever.

He did not gate crash the Waldorf as he was on stage with Graham Nash, Allan Clarke and Bernie Calvert to collect his award. Why wasn't he asked to take to the stage for the performance?

And Eric Haydock. I neglected to mention him in my earlier post. Btw saw Terry Sylvester in Australia recently and he was in fine voice. It was indeed great to see these members on the same stage together to receive this recognition that was too long in coming. The Hollies have been a class band since they began.
