For those non-Aussies here, Sherbet was one of the biggest Australian bands of the 70s. Some posters may remember their 1976 international hit Howzat (which I still hear being played at English international cricket matches after batsmen are dismissed ). You may guess from my user name that I am a big fan of the band.
Anyway, this isn't to promote Sherbet, rather to investigate a Hollies link to them. I am sure I read at some stage that Sherbet toured with The Hollies, around 76/77 from memory. I think it may have been through Canada. Does anyone know if this is the case?
Cheers. |

I have a close friend, here in the US, who said he went to a Hollies/Sherbet concert somewhere in Canada during that period. He told me Sherbet was very good. |

Sherbet was a great warm-up group for the Hollies in Oslo 1977! |

I saw the Hollies with Sherbet as the opening act in Saskatoon, Sask. Canada in late 70's. Best concert I ever saw and Sherbet was an amazing act. They even got a standing ovation and encore from the crowd. There were a few who thought maybe they would steal the show but the Hollies were fantastic that night and were the headliners for sure. |

Hi Sherb
I too was and still am a huge Sherbet fan and have every single and album they ever recorded (which I still play) as well as a DVD of them singing all of their hits. Howzat is my favourite single and the the album of the same name is my favourite Sherbet album. Sherbet were my favourite band from 1973-1980 and I saw them over 20 times in that period.
Anyway, I think Sherbet toured England with The Hollies in 1976 because I remember how thrilled I was that my 2 favourite bands at the time were touring together.
