Received an email newsletter today for UK teachers that mentioned this website:
http://www.stillgigging.co.uk/
The Gig List For Bands From The 60's And 70's Still Performing
Today.
Erhm...it has a really obvious omission...
But for some reason, includes Lindisfarne...I thought GordonJ said they split...
There's an email link if you want to enlighten them...

Hi Beebs
I logged onto the website you put up and read the list. I have one complaint though, whoever made it out neglected to add The Hollies (which is nothing new). It is amazing how many people leave The Hollies of lists like this and it does not amuse me one bit. It is just like they don't exist but they do and are still playing to sell out audiences everywhere they go.
Two other favourites of mine Herman's Hermits and Gerry And The Pacemakers are still performing today and they aren't on the list either and neither are The Rolling Stones.
Yes Beebs, Gordon did say that Lindisfarne broke up and yet they are on the list.
All The Best

Hi Susie
The page does state that it may not be accurate. Peter Noone is mentioned as being part of the recent Solid Silver 60's tour and as he appeared solo the writer may not know that a British based Herman's Hermits band still exists. The option is there for people to contact them and give them the facts. |

Hi Kathy
I admit that I didn't read the whole page, I only read the names of all the performers. Most of those sort of lists are never accurate anyway.

Hi all,
Yes it's hard to see how they left the Hollies off the list, they seem to tour 3 to 4 months a year in the UK. For some reason the Hollies always seem to get over looked.
Bye all,
Anthony |

You can say that again Anthony I don't think there's ever been a truer statement.
