Yeh I completly agree with what you said Gee and Benny you have good points as well. What I cant understand here is why is the album only availiable to people livng in the UK by post? I don't have much of a problem with the album just being sold at concerts and via the Hollies internet site. But ............ why can't the album be availiable to everyone around the world? Is this going to change? is it going to be avaliable eventually to fans around the world? I, like many have been waiting anxiously for this album to come out having read up dates on it's pending release............. only like many to discover I can't get a copy just because I live in New Zealand. If it is going to be avaliable to us overseas fans, could someone please let us know !!!!
Cheers Ray |

Yep, Gee makes some very good points, all of which I agree with. Promotion is certainly a major factor in any venture (in this day and age the internet being the primary tool to make use of in this regard). Again though, it's all supposition at this stage as to whether the new album is going to be only released at concerts and online. It's no good moaning about it not having a commerical release when we don't know if that's the case.
Just as interesting point re The Woman I love:
Gee wrote: |
"The Woman I Love" DID chart in the UK in 1993....reaching number 42...and WAS picking up repeated Radio Airplay & positive D.J. comments like:
"Great new single from The Hollies....GOOD to hear from them again..."
However try to buy the single....NO ONE ever had it in stock ! - Hence the following week it fell out of the charts....
A guy in HMV Record Shop (The EMI Shop !) flatly told me:
"We WON'T be stocking that !" |
Ironically I only first discovered that the single existed by stumbling across it purely by accident in the HMV in Stockport! And they did have a good number in stock for a good number of weeks - on CD, cassette and vinyl |

Gee writes"Remember when that Liverpool kid asked Record shop owner Brian Epstein for "My Bonnie" by The Beatles he did NOT have a copy...
NOR had he heard of them...
The record was unknown by almost everyone in the UK at that time...
...But in 1964 "My Bonnie" duly CHARTED in the USA...much to George Harrison's amusement"
An excellent posting( as ALWAYS ) and a very well put point at the end. The Hollies need to follow the three P's.........Promotion, promotion, promotion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hi all,
Got a copy of the Hollies new cd, It's great, I enjoyed it from start to finish, I've been playing it over and over. The Hollies have a real winner here, it's well worth a listen to those who might be undecided, it has a modern sounds but still has some wonderful harmonies.
all the best,
Anthony |

I also received my copy. Of course it went right into the CD player. After a few listens, I've decided that my favorites are as follows;
1. Then, Now, Always
2. Coming Home Too Much Too Soon
3. Unforgivable
4. Hearts Don't Lie |

Yeah, I've been playing my copy for a while now and think the album is brilliant. My favourites so far are:
Then, Now, Always ( Dolphin Days) Excellent lead vocals and harmonies.
One Touch-Great to hear the wonderful tones of the Electric Sitar again.
I Would Fly-The middle eight gets me right in the heart.
I Lied- Such an uplifting song-fantastic.
One Way Ticket-Touch of Carlos Santana here-Wonderful Tony.
Hearts Don't Lie-A great song-Beatlesque meets Hollies Back Catalogue-Amazing!!!
All in all a WOWSER of an album-Well done lads |

I suppose it is not possible to have a single release since the CD has not officially been released. Is this the general consensus or am I off base? |

Funny you should mention it. My copy just arrived yesterday via
Trans Atlantic West Bound Jet, and the righteous efforts of one
the UK's finest citizens.
I am digging the title track. The beats a gas. Makes me wonder
what a stripped down, bare bones, raw rock and roll Dolphins album
with Bobby And Tony just tearing it up nonstop would groove like?
... I'm Coming Home , Passengers have jumped
right out and grabbed me. It's wonderful. I'm happy to be
sharing this with you.
I wonder what would have happened album wise,
if the cats were more inclined to attempt this kind of self
contained album approach while Allan was still around.
I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
I'd have to go along with "WOWZER ! " <--- American spelling |

In the spirit of trying to be helpful. I posted an album
review on me myspace. Rather than make a super long
post, here's a link should anyone feel inclined to check it out. |

I've finally had a good listen to the album and it is fantastic.
How lucky are we that the band started recording again in 2006 after such a long hiatus?
My favourite tracks are:
Then, Now, Always
One Touch
I Lied
Unforgivable
Hearts Don't Lie
Cheers, Mark. |
