The show was a countdown of the most successful covers. So I was quite surprised to see the Hollies at Nr. 1. Great. They did "Air" with leadvocals from Peter of course. Then there was a short interview with Tony and finally they played "Weakness". Well done! Very Happy

Oh yes, I was so happy to see them perform on German television and as NO 1. WOW!!!!
They were the best performers of that evening, of course. A great performance of "Air". It was played live, I think. That made them the only ones who played live (unlike The Troggs who played with their old 60s playback of "Love Is All ARound"). The audience also reacted great on "Weakness" and they got standing ovation. Tony also talked about their live gig in Hamburg.
The host of the show Hugo Egon Balder said that he was proud to have them on the show. I felt good after watching the show and proud because of being a fan of that fabulous band. Very Happy

Well, it was quite a big show to be on, so, the pity is they didn`t have a whole string of gigs to announce rather than just one as it was good exposure.

I thought the sound mix for the whole show was pretty lousy.

I was rather embarrassed by the c and d celebrities they had as guests... However the Hollies were great! And to have them on a prime time tv show as No1 was simply great. Truely hope that some of the viewers which should be in excess of 2 millions, will go and buy a Hollies CD now. And if they did, I´m sure not a small number would become addicted.

just a thought Rob, and I'm sure you've already looked at it, but can this kind of clip be put on the website? I'm sure it plays havoc with bandwidth but it owuld be great to start seeing some of these appearances on the site.

You're right John, plays havoc with bandwidth and a bill of £70 for going slightly over in a month is not viable. I was caught out with the Let Love Pass clip last Christmas.

However, I am looking at getting around it.

Just to let you know, I have not forgotten but the first one I tried did not work on standard DVD players so I have to make some adjustments and do it again.

Hopefully quite soon but I have been rather busy of late.

I will be in touch as soon as it is finished. Apologies for the delay.

Been able to get my hands on a copy of the Hollies from the show, I thought they did a great job, they looked smart, sang well. Only trouble was with the short interview with Tony they had what was being said in German over his voice so don't know what Tony said, but then again it is a German show.
I really liked their second song "Weakness", the lads seem to really enjoy the newer material, maybe as they all helped and were part of the recording.
Well done Hollies.
