Picked up the Repertoire remastered digipak reissues of their two albums 'Horizons' and 'The Going's Easy' recently. Some nice material there, including the original version of Magic Woman Touch. Of interest to Hollies fans also will be band members Colin Horton-Jennings and Garth Watt-Roy. Nice Hipgnosis cover artwork too!

Does their version of "Magic Woman Touch" differ much from The Hollies version? Colin Horton-Jennings also had another band called Taggett, who had an LP in 1976 produced by Tony Hicks. It was released in the US on the United Artists label.

Their version sounds structurally not too dismillar to the Hollies acoustic version (released as a bonus track on Romany last year), complete with percussion and acoustics [six-string] at the start then bass and electric guitar/keyboard solo near the end. Vocals are very different from the Hollies version. Nevertheless, I really like this version too!

Bassist Norman Watt-Roy went on to play bass with Ian Dury & The Blockheads - his fluent lines in evidence on their classic 'Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick'
