He also sang the lead on the SBJ's recorded cover version of The Beatles' "This Boy". 'Lead' for that song means those kickin' lines in the middle bridge - "Ohhhh, annnnd, this booooy....won't be happ-eeee....." Great rendition. Very indicitive of the the rough-edged "MerseyBeat" sound. |
Yes, that's on the Canadian Capitol LP "Don't Make Me Over". (That LP has tracks with Terry on it but the record company didn't have any new photos with him in the band, unfortunately). No wonder Terry relocated there; that country was very good to his career. "He Ain't Heavy" went to No. 1 in Canada in 1970, plus two Hollies LPs, "Hollies Live" and "5317704", which didn't get issued in the US, were released in Canada. |

Nice that you mention that Canadian SBJ album, Dennis, because Terry is on all other songs except the title track. A must for Hollies collectors, obviously. |

got me (UK Columbia DB 8431) Rel 06-68
The Blue Jeans : Hey Mrs. Housewife/Sandfly (UK Columbia DB 8555) Rel. 03-69
Big thanks to Norway's SBJ specialist, Paal ! |

All of its tracks will be on the forthcoming 4 CD SBJ Box Set, hopefully with true stereo mixes. EMI is really doing right by its acts; first the Gerry and The Pacemakers set and now this one. I want to see a Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas set next. |

I'm also impressed by the Gerry & Pacemakers box, and looking forward to the SBJ box, Dennis. Maybe it would be worthwhile to have a new less expensive 4CD-box by the Hollies, too? |

I would question that, as the 4 CD box sets we're referring to encompass everything by these particular acts; I think that is their purpose. 4 CDs obviously couldn't hold everything by The Hollies, unless they only concentrated on, say, 1963-6. If so, EMI could conceivably issue three 4 CD box sets on The Hollies, extending into the '70s material. Wishful thinking, perhaps? If such a thing happens, there should be some unreleased live material included, as there has been precious little released so far. At least some goodies for the collector that have not been previously issued should be included. |

EMI also did a nice Manfred Mann set last year. |
