It's hard to move product if retailers are unable to get it for customers.

A brand new Hollies release is no more available ? Sounds like a typical "Hollies CD" problem to me I often had to face when I bought a Hollies CD on the internet because it couldn't be found in any CD store although it was new (f.e. the Magic Records releases).
But the EMI releases were in my local CD store. Can't they be bought in a local CD store in the USA ? |

Hi Sparty
If I were you, I;d order from abroad, i.e Europe. Here's a link to Play.com here in the UK (who also offer it for download), hopefully you should be able to purchase from them?

Is that "free delivery" also good for their International orders? I looked at the site for a couple of minutes, and wasn't able to figure that out.
According to a website I just looked at, that comes to about $21.40 U.S. at today's translation.
I guess I'll just wait and see if my current order comes through. If now, I'll get it here - assuming there's no additional cost for shipping.
Thanks for the link. |

I think it's only free delivery in the UK. |

If you have access to I-TUNES you can hear a snippet of "Burn Fire Burn". Grant it it's just a teaser but it will give you a general idea as to what the song sounds like. |

According to an e-mail that I received yesterday, my CD allegedly has shipped.
My fingers are crossed. |

I was surprised to find copies of EMI's CDs "Hollies", "Another Night", "Romany", and "Buddy Holly" at Amoeba Records here in Hollywood. This store, the only really good one left in Los Angeles, adamantly refused to stock "Staying Power". |

Well, the disc arrived, so now I too have heard the new song.
I'm not sure what to make of it, because it's so new. But, I can safely report that Clarke's voice was at his peak, and so as you might expect, the vocals are great - I'd even call them "stunning."
After a month or so, I'll have an idea of whether or not this will make my personal playlist. But so far, it sounds pretty good to my ears. |

To me, "Burn Fire Burn" sounds like a decent B-side, on a par with "Crossfire"; sort of in that Springsteen-ish mode that Clarke favored in the mid-70s. |

Yes, Springsteen-ish is the word I was searching for. The kind of mixture of spoken and rockin' singing reminded me of "Born To Run" somehow. I think it's a good song. I like it more than "Crossfire". |
